-TECHNICAL DATA-
Glassprimer™ primer/2
part paint/catalyst
GP083/GPPP083/GPUC083
RECOMMENDED
USE:
GPPP083
is recommended for interior and exterior use on properly prepared glass
surfaces.
GPPP083
provides great performance properties, such as excellent flow and leveling,
film hardness and exterior durability.
COLORS:
Any
color can be matched by the Glassprimer™ photo color matching system. Send
us a sample color swatch or paint manufacturer color code to receive your
paint color match.
PERFORMANCE
FEATURES:
SHEEN
GPPP083
is a low gloss paint (Glossy when back-painted on glass)
FADE
RESISTANCE
Long
term UV light exposure studies confirm GPPP083 is significantly better than
that of most exterior paints.
WATER
RESISTANCE
Excellent
GLASS
ADHESION
GPPP083
is formulated to be applied to glass after glass has been treated with
GP083.
GP083
actively modifies glass surface molecular structure to form a permanent
GPPP083 paint/glass bond.

GLASS
SURFACE PREPARATION
The
glass surface to be painted must be free of all contamination, including
oil, grease, oxidation and dust.
Glass
surface must be treated with GP083 before paint can be applied.
Apply
component A (GP083) to entire glass surface by spraying on and wiping off
with a lint free paper towel or saturate a lint free paper towel with
component A (GP083) and wipe the entire glass surface. Allow all GP083 to
evaporate from glass surface before applying paint to glass.
GP083
application is not intended to leave a visible film or coating to glass
surface such as a regular paint primer does. GP083 enables the molecular
structure of the glass surface to modify into a composition that will accept
GPPP083 paint with permanent properties.
*Paint/glass
bonding science proves that paint with an additive added to it to help promote
paint/glass bond will not have the same adhesion strength results as the
Glassprimer™ process. Scientific tests have proven that applying GP083 to
the glass surface has higher paint/glass adhesion rates than when adding a
glass bonding additive to paint.
APPLICATION
DATA:
MIXING
DIRECTIONS
Stir
GPPP083 thoroughly before being used.
Mix
4 parts component B (GPPP083) to 1 part component C (GPUC083) (4:1 Ratio).
Agitate thoroughly and allow it to digest 5 minutes before using.
THINNING
Thin
paint with conventional lacquer thinner to no more than 3.5 VOC
POT
LIFE
75°F
2-3 hours depending on temperatures and humidity.
RECOMMENDED
WET FILM BUILD
Spray
application: 4.0 - 10.0 mils (4-10 coats)
Film
build in excess of this recommendation may cause problems such as, adhesion
failure, pigment floatation, solvent popping, and slow cure.
APPLICATION
EQUIPMENT
Conventional
spray gun: 50-120 psi at the gun.
DRYING
TIME
4
mils wet at 75°F and 50% relative humidity.
To
Touch: 30 minutes-1 hour
To
Handle: 2-3 hours
Dry:
24 hours
Recoat:
5-10 minutes
Bake:
15 minutes @ 185°F
Bake:
25 minutes @ 145°F
Bake:
35 minutes @ 125°F
These
conditions do not mean that paint has reached full cure. It is a stage where
handling can be achieved without loosening, wrinkling or otherwise marring
the paint under minimal pressure from fingers or hands. Drying time listed
may vary, depending on film build, color selection, temperature, humidity
and degree of air movement.
*Paint
is not fully cured for 5-7 days relative to the above conditions.
Application
of film thickness in excess of that recommended for this product will
substantially extend dry time.
RECOMMENDED
SPREADING RATE
210
sq ft. at 4.0 mil (4 coats) per U.S. gallon.
APPLICATION
LIMITATIONS
Apply
only when air, product or glass surface temperature is above 50°F and below
300°F. Apply only when
glass surface temperature is at least 5°F above the dew point.
